Follow Joe and Emma on an exciting Game Day adventure at Lane Stadium! Along the way, the Hokie Bird teaches the young Hokies all about the game of football and how to
work as a team.
When two officials find themselves stuck in traffic, Joe and Emma - with their new-found knowledge - save the day by stepping in and officiating the big game themselves! As the clock winds down, the Hokies need to kick a very long field goal to win the game. Can you guess who trots on the field to attempt the kick? Yes! The Hokie Bird's strong leg saves the day and, along with Joe and Emma, lead the team to VICTORY!
This colorfully illustrated book also includes the Hokie Bird's easy-to-reference Game Day Football Glossary. Primarily written for young readers ages 3-9, it's widely reported that many moms love Learning Football with The Hokie Bird, too!
The daughter of a Virginia Tech professor, Sarah Marshall Elliott was born and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia where her love affair with the Hokies® and college sports began at the young age of 6. Her first crush was Don Strock (VT quarterback, 1972)! She and her children, third-generation members of Hokie Nation, still take road trips to VT football
and basketball games.
The story is largely based on her own childhood experience, her children, and a true passion for Virginia Tech football. She is the author, chief marketer, and owner of Game Day Publications. She owns Capstone Brand Partners (www.capstonebrandpartners.com), a branding consulting agency, and is an award-winning oil painter (www.ellliottoils.com).
